French booksellers are revolting!

Crikey, I really wouldn’t want to pick the bones out of this one.

The Grauniad, for once, has published a very interesting article.

While that shock sinks in, ask yourself: should a French literary prize have chosen a book self-published by/on Amazon, to be in with a chance of winning? French bookshops are saying “Non!” Because they can’t sell the title. But, the ‘traditional’ publishers who do provide them with books to sell, said “Non!” to publishing this book, despite the author having had previous books traditionally published…

Sacré bleu!

There are 17 books on the longlist for this year’s Prix Renaudot and the contentious book, is Marco Koskas’ Bande de Français.
