Not quite as god-awful as the first one. Perhaps. But not enough to have me running for the bookshelf to find number three (I was suckered into buying all three with a kind of ‘well, I’ve got the first two, I might as well get all three while I’m here’ and they’re signed maybe they’ll be worth a bit in the future.’ Can’t see that happening now).
The aliens seem to be sticking to the main precept of Star Trek’s Federation, of not getting involved. As yet. The backward knees is something that sticks with you. For all the wrong reasons.
There are interviews like in World War Z scattered through out. Though there are also here and now texts, emails, interviews. And not just after the event as WWZ. At least there aren’t recipies. Be thankful for small mercies…
Still pretty forgettable though and certainly not a classic in any way. I don’t know what I was thinking. Maybe the third one will be the one.
